Our day excursion to Ouzoud cascades will start with a 3-hour drive north of Marrakech to the village of Tanaghmeilt in the province of Azilal.
The drive along the open country is quite pleasant.
We cross some mountain passes, open countryside, and fields of olive trees.
The falls become apparent as we get closer to Tanaghmeilt, and your first glimpse of the eminent cascades will send chills down your spine.
Once arrived at Ouzoud, there are walking paths that go all the way up to waterfall’s edge, down to the cascade’s pools and around the river.
Walk along with them and enjoy the view of Ouzoud waterfall.
The falls form numerous natural pools, where you could dive in for a fresh swim, or if you are courageous enough, join the locals and jump off the cliffs into the water below.
You will also see the wildlife, encompassed in the sight of monkeys that roam the trees.
